Weekday Christmas program and Amelia's first solo!

Two years ago at the Weekday Christmas program, Amelia sat there like a deer in the headlights and didn't open her mouth once. Last year, she improved a bit by occasionally opening her mouth, but never to actually sing - she just pretended too (she's a REALLY bad lip syncer).

Imagine our surprise, when a week before the program, her teachers told Mike that she had a SOLO in this year's program!!! Girlfriend had been belting it out so much during practice that they were confident in her. Mom and Dad were still nervous that she wouldn't comply on the day of the program, but except for one little lyric stumble, she sang her heart out. We were sooooo proud of our little soloist. Lily did great too! When she didn't have her shirt sleeve in her mouth, sucking on it (my favorite new Lily-ism - not), she was singing and doing the motions too. Go Lily! Maybe next year, she'll have a solo. :)

I guess we couldn't expect a good picture at that point - she was all performed out. :)

Awesome!! So proud of her! Lyla would have just stood there with a pouty look on her face. Love it!

Love it! Looks like she got a bit of her parents' performance genes.
